Yu-Tzu Tai, President

Dr. Yu-Tzu Tai, a cancer biologist and immunologist, currently serves as the Director of ADC and Translational Research at Oxford BioTherapeutics in San Jose, California, and Oxford, United Kingdom. Her academic journey began with a PhD in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. With over two decades of experience, Dr. Tai has made significant contributions to the development of multiple FDA-approved therapies for blood and solid tumors, encompassing both small molecules and biologics. Her leadership in translational research, particularly in advancing antibody-based immunotherapies, has earned her recognition. Dr. Tai has authored over 210 scientific publications and is a long-standing member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). She also serves on the editorial board of Clinical Cancer Research and actively engages in collaborations
between academia and industry.

Ingrid Ou, Co-Vice President

 

Songli Wang, Co-Vice President

Songli Wang is a biotechnology leader dedicated to advancing medical science and improving health. With expertise in molecular biology, pharmacology, and genetics, Dr. Wang has spent over twenty years developing treatments for neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, and metabolic disorders. Formerly a senior manager at Amgen, Dr. Wang led research teams and supported innovative therapies.

Currently, Dr. Wang is Founder and CEO of BioEdge Global, a consulting firm helping biotech and pharmaceutical companies discover and develop new medicines. Wang’s work connects scientific breakthroughs with practical medical solutions, resulting in publications and collaborations across academia and industry.

Dr. Wang holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Pennsylvania and is active in multiple scientific societies, demonstrating ongoing leadership and teamwork in science and healthcare.

Chi-Ming Li, Co-Conference Chair

 

Jia Jun Chia, Co-Conference Chair

Jia Jun is currently a Senior Associate Scientist at Gilead Sciences working in the Virology department as a researcher on the Hepatitis B cure program. Prior to moving to the Bay Area, she was a graduate student at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she earned an MS in Bioengineering and investigated the role of vascular smooth muscle cells in the calcification of the brain vasculature. She also obtained a BS in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. She joined CBA in 2017 as a volunteer to help with videography, and served as the webmaster from 2019 to 2023. She was also CBA’s president in 2024, and the Proceedings Director in 2025. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, doing escape rooms and exploring national parks with her family.

 

Davina Chen, Sponsorship Director

Davina Chen serves as the Sponsorship Director for CBA, where she leverages her passion for community-building to foster industry partnerships and support the vibrant bioscience network in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dedicated to fostering collaboration, she focuses on connecting the dots between people and resources to drive growth across the region’s world-class biotech ecosystem.

Professionally, Davina specializes in translating scientific complexity into actionable strategies that drive patient impact. As the Director of Business Strategy and Market Intelligence at Asymchem Group, she acts as a strategic enabler in the CDMO sector, bridging the gap between technical innovation and global drug development to streamline the “Bench to Bedside” continuum.

With over 15 years of experience—ranging from leading regional vaccine launches to advising on AI-driven health innovations—Davina’s perspective is anchored in a multidisciplinary academic foundation, holding a BS in Agricultural Extension from National Taiwan University and an MS in Marketing from Johns Hopkins University.

Shengqin Su, Operations & Membership Director

Shengqin Su has been a dedicated member of CBA since 2023. He is currently a Research Scientist at Stanford University. Previously, he worked in biomarker development at Hengrui Pharmaceuticals and early colorectal cancer detection at Singlera Genomics. He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Science and an M.S. in Applied Statistics from UW-Madison, as well as an M.S. in Nanoengineering from UC San Diego.

 

 

Jade Hsu, Alliance & Volunteer Director

Jade Hsu, PhD, PMP - Business ... Jade joined CBA in 2023 and has been actively involved in organizing CBA events. Currently, she serves as a Deputy Regional Director at Biocytogen, a pre-clinical CRO specializing in gene editing, humanized animal/cell models, and disease models. With a background in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, Jade brings extensive experience in research and development from both the United States and Taiwan. Her expertise spans pre-clinical drug development and product development in sequencing-related fields. During her academic endeavors, she focused on drug repurposing for lung cancer therapeutics.

 

 

Wei-Chieh (Gala) Mu, Proceedings Director

Wei-Chieh (Gala) Mu, PhD, is a Business Development Manager at Biocytogen, where she focuses on advancing preclinical research collaborations with biopharma partners. She earned her PhD in Endocrinology from the University of California, Berkeley, and previously conducted postdoctoral research at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, applying computational and multi-omics approaches to study aging and age-related diseases.

She previously served as the 2025 President of the Bay Area Taiwanese Biotechnology Association (BATBA), where she led initiatives to strengthen connections among biotech professionals in the Bay Area and foster a collaborative community.

 

David Hsieh, Marketing Director

David is a biopharmaceutical researcher with more than 10 years of experience in drug discovery, spanning cancer research, virology, and cell and gene therapy. His primary focus is preclinical cancer research for small molecule therapeutics, informed by his study of targeted therapeutics in lung cancer in the Thoracic Oncology Laboratory at UCSF. He holds a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley and a M.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UCLA.

Grace Wang, Treasurer

Grace is currently retired but enjoys contributing to CBA’s missions. She likes spending time with family and friends, gardening, and traveling.
